How to make an exercise habit that sticks!

Millions of people start a new exercise and nutrition plan each day in hope of getting fitter, leaner, stronger or healthier.

But the sad thing is…….

The majority of these people will FAIL!

Did you know 14% of people who start an exercise plan in January will stop by the end of February?

And even when they make it past February, 80% of people won’t make it longer than 5 months!!

This is something that needs to change so we have put together 5 top tips to ensure you are not in that 80%.

1 - Start by making small changes
Don't take on too much at once. Change one thing at a time and get used to it before making more changes. One of the biggest mistakes people make is overloading themselves with too much training/too strict a diet and then not being able to maintain it!

2 - Find something you enjoy
If you don't enjoy something, its only a matter of time before you quit! Try looking at different types of training such as classes, Group Personal Training and sports.

3 - Track/Measure
Tracking your progress can make a big difference to adherence. Tracking can help you see if you are getting results or not. If you are getting results, great keep going. But if you're not getting results, tracking will let you know if you need to change something. And obviously, no one will maintain an exercise regime if it is failing.

4 - Be patient
Don't expect massive changes straight away, be patient with your goals and understand it will take time. There will be times when you aren't making progress, but that is normal and being patient is key to long-term adherence and results.

5 - Get some help
You don't have to be on your own when it comes to fitness. Don't be afraid to ask for help! There are lots of places to go to for advice/guidance. We are here to answer any of your fitness and nutrition questions and give you the best advice possible.
